What could be lurking in your Shampoo bottles?
Contaminants can form in many of the products we buy at the supermarket. I have been recently coming across a lot of articles regarding contamination concerns in many skin care and body care products that are commonly used. This is becoming a health concern because these contaminants are not going to be listed on the ingredients list & have found to have possible health concerns as well as environmental concerns.
How do contaminants get into our skin care products?
Chemicals such as Nitrosamines are formed when ingredients like TEA and other ingredients are mixed together. Another by product formed is called 1,4_Dioxane (a known carcinogen) that is of great concern.
One issue I find to be a common problem with these contaminants are issues I have talked about in earlier posts about the lack of safety regulations placed on manufactures. If the manufactures were required to run safety test and keep contaminants like these out of our products we all would be safer.
I will be putting a list together of ingredients to avoid that are connected to contamination concerns. As of now I have a list of contaminants to be careful of click here "common chemicals". I do have some ingredients within these pages, but I will post the list when I get it put together. In the mean time, educate yourself on what contaminants are and how to avoid them.
This is a forever changing industry and one of my missions is to bring to you (the public) information to help us all make healthier wiser decisions for ourselves and our families. Be Happy, Be Healthy!
